The Schipperke (pronounced Skipper-key) is an under appreciated and an uncommon breed. It is a great dog of choice for the animal lover.

It’s powerhouse personality can be summed up in the long informal debate over whether this dog is a spitz or miniature sheepdog. She has the fieriness of the herder and discernment – maybe aloofness? – of a spitz.

Smaller than a sheepdog, it is a choice animal for the older or young dog owner who may have troubles with larger dogs. Or any person wanting a great dog who has less optimal physiques to control a larger dog.

If you are up for the challenge look into bringing home a scheipperke. She will bring great rewards we are sure. Don’t spoil a Schipperke unless you want troubles. They need firm guidance.
