Welcome to the DTO Family!

Knudsen is a Labrador Retriever. He is eighteen months. His owner (that’s me!) works here with the team that brings you DTO.

Every day Knudsen walks an off-leash trail – with lots of local dogs and people to meet and greet. Knudsen is a family pet and companion. He’s a great dog. Right now Knudsen is taking Dove’s beginner’s Rally-O Training at the doggie day care center in the next town. The classes teach a method of Agility using positive, behaviour training.

Training is a great way to experience your dog!

… Knudsen has been a handful since we brought him home at twelve weeks old. Dove’s online training – now her videos – are constantly referenced in our household and help us to rethink some of our training challenges when we get stumped.

I have experienced firsthand what has helped me and in-person training with an accredited trainer will not replace any online training. Dove has recorded a module on how to choose a trainer.

– The video and audio modules help YOU to remember the tenants of positive reinforcement. Learn what gives your dog the motivation to come back to you to learn more.

Knudsen is a high energy dog so it’s been a godsend that the work at DTO allows the both of us to get out and play during the day. You too may have a flexible schedule, or you may not. Whatever your situation, the DTO family wants to give you the tools for your play and training. The DTO modules, in high resolution video are easy to access when you find time for your puppy.

Dog ownership doesn’t require a PHD. Sometimes you may wish you had a manual …or even better! a remote control. (Pssst! that quick fix method really isn’t out there – and only commitment and consistency can bring results). When you join us here at DTO you will feel the backing of a team who believes in the GAME method. The team has worked to match the right training methods, a great teacher, with easy access – right on your computer.

And now we want to introduce you to the rest of the family.

Knudsen is the most of everything. He is single-minded when it comes to water. Not even the cold will stop him jumping into the lake for 1/2 hour after a stick or ball. When he spots a dog say 15 metres away it never fails he will crouch down in play position. It is not a myth, this is a submissive behaviour for play!

And then! Spring into action!

True to his breed, food holds a high priority, near and dear to our Lovely Knudsen. Let’s call him a bit of a food expert – though certainly not a connoisseur. If Knudsen and I could direct you to one place on DTO it would be Dove’s video on the benefits of quality dog food in “Choosing the Right Food for your Dog”.

Dove explains important ingredients for your dog’s health.

If you have read this far I know you take that extra effort for your dog. Forgive the preaching tone earlier about commitment. A membership with DTO is a great move. The website is not intended as a replacement for your own trainer. However; I will share news from our side of the family to help navigate a better use of DTO.

Welcome! Again.

Happy Trails!
